… this is 99% of what terfs do to trans women, to the point where they try to apply ur-fascism to trans people to highlight our existential threat to real women
Yes, it’s a malicious caricature, but I can’t wrap my head around how that caricature is supposed to communicate “erasing women”.
Perhaps those already convinced can say.
Ah, you see, it’s because Those Malicious Transgenders split the world into……..um…….Women and Cis. Which is bad, because everyone knows it should be Women and Transgenders. You see, it’s the vicious way trans people definitely think they’re the only real women, a thing that definitely happens probably sometimes.
Why, I have tears in my eyes thinking about all the times I’ve gone into a women’s space like a bathroom, changing room, or feminist event, only to be hurled out, those cruel cries echoing in my ears - “this place is for WOMEN, not for cis like you, which is an offensive noun we, the Real Trans Women Who Exist, use to denigrate cissies! Away with you!” they cry! “Down With Cis! Come back when you’re wearing high heels and a miniskirt like Every Trans Woman Definitely Does! We love the oppressive construction of gender roles because we never ever ever experience any kind of misogyny because that’s how that works!”
Oh… Oh no. I just had a thought. What if this is a tone-deaf reaction to “women and cis women”? taking them at face value, without any context?
my main problem with those pussy hats is that theyre ugly
also that the ppl who wear them do shit like this
But… the lady in the pic is right… is it not fucking misogynistic to go against the statement, “Woman is not a ‘feeling’, a costume, or a performance of a stereotype!”??? Why are y'all so dense???
uh noah fence but trans women are women and please kindly fuck off thanks
I’m not going to comment on any of the “women in the alt right” posts flying around today because my perspective is so skewed from following the far right. By necessity I’ve gotten to the point I don’t react to them viscerally anymore like normal people do.
But from my perspective, the increased visibility of the issue is good for us (people who hate Nazis). The debate over women in the alt right is creating more dissent within their movement. There are increasing divisions between three sides when it comes to their position on women:
(don’t get me wrong, they’re all misogynists and wifebeaters, they just disagree on how to go about it)
1) Old-school white supremacists who are misogynist in the traditional way. They mainly hate women but sometimes get worked up about “Valkyrie shield maidens protecting the white race” and say nice things about them. They’re really into pro-natalism and “having lots of white babies”.
2) The “alt-lite” who’ve retreated from the naked anti-semitism of the core alt right since 2016. They also hate women, especially feminists, but are perfectly happy to have self-hating women on their side. Ann Coulter is an older example. Lauren Southern is a newer one. They’re not particularly pro-natalism, but they sometimes give it lip service.
3) The core alt right who hate women to a degree you can’t even imagine if you’re a normal person. Strongly influenced by linked hate movements like MRA and MGTOW, they even hate the whacko white Nazi women who agree with them. Any woman speaking up publicly is supposed to get bullied off the internet immediately. Tara McCarthy didn’t really understand that—maybe she thought they were kidding—but they weren’t, so now she’s paying the price and they’ve turned on her.
A lot of people are pointing out that the core alt right hate women to such a degree that their movement isn’t going to last very long, because any group in the history of the world needs women and kids to last beyond one generation. The core alt right answer with a magical thinking argument called “white Sharia”, essentially arguing that once they win, they’ll enslave all women and keep them in cages anyway. I’m not being hyperbolic. They actually say this.
This post just got reblogged by a bunch of TERFs so I thought I’d take this opportunity to talk to them if they check the notes. Every time I say misogyny in this post I’m including transmisogyny, when I say women I also mean trans women, whenever I say “the female body” I also mean trans women’s female bodies. And I’m not doing that to look cool because I don’t give a shit about looking cool, it’s just the objectively right thing to do. If you’re a young TERF who got sucked into it out of a contrarian impulse, you’ve been conned. You’re getting into a deadend ideology based on hate with frightening parallels to the alt right. The alt right agrees with you all about trans women, they even draw points for their arguments from your lying campaigns about trans women. You are effectively their allies. Don’t waste the energy of some of the best years of your life on such a reactionary, archaic, hateful, stupid, evil bullshit pointless cult. Get. Out.
@ solacekames a bunch of “TERFs” reblogged your initial post because it sums up very nicely why radical feminism is diametrically opposed to fascism. Most “TERFs” realise that Nazis and similar scum also hate trans everybody and anyone who is under the LGBTQ umbrella, so I don’t think you’re going to get any radical feminists saying that alt right has a reasonable platform.
So let me get this straight. If Radical Feminists don’t embrace trans identified males, many of whom are Nazis, they are the allies of the alt right who hate women? Cool story, bro.
Transactivists turned me into a terf. Get back to us about how pointless and evil terfs are when you hit peak trans a couple of times.
A shadowy cabale composed of a tiny percentage of the population manipulates us behind the scenes. They are against nature, against the natural order of things. Their ultimate goal is to destroy us from the inside. They have many duped sympathizers, but only a select few are smart enough to see through their lies, and will ultimately be proven right once this unnatural enemy is exterminated and society will be cleansed from their contamination…
Do you see how you sound EXACTLY like the alt right? Your obsession with bathrooms is right up their alley too. You even have a version of “the red pill” with “peak trans”.
@ cis women: y'all know trans women are de facto forcibly sterilized, right? Like, if we don’t have the money and access required to freeze our genetic material (aka sperm), we can’t have biological offspring after starting hrt. And since almost everywhere requires medical transition as necessary to get legal recognition of our womanhood, this amounts to forced sterilization for the majority of trans women. So that’s what I mean when I say I resent being talked down to by “cis allies” on the subject of reproductive rights.
In many places throughout the world, permanent surgical sterilization via removal of the gonads is also a required step in order to get one’s gender legally changed. Cis gatekeepers really want to make sure trans people (and trans women especially) do not reproduce.
And what’s worse, we are supposed to be happy about it, and being unhappy with this arrangement can be taken as a sign that we aren’t a “real trans” and thus the medical care we need to transition will be withheld from us in many places. Its so fucked.
YES!! I literally was just talking to my friend yesterday about this. I’m permanently sterile and not by my own choice. 😡 And even if I somehow managed to remain virile, I have to coercively undergo extremely expensive surgery which will permanently render me unable to have children in order to be recognized by the state. I have no autonomy over my body. Remember the women’s march and how people actually got mad at trans women for criticizing how cis-centric it was?? When we spoke up about our issues being ignored and silenced, people literally said “It’s about reproductive rights, trans women don’t have any reproductive rights issues to demonstrate about!” 🙄
^^^ i also love your tags. Unlike what radfems claim, trans women most certainly experience sex-based oppression.
also, before someone else says it is – it isn’t the same sort of treatment for trans men. trans women are excluded in ways trans men are not.
trans masculine folks aren’t sterilized by hrt. it’s recommended trans masculine folks on testosterone for a long time get a hysterectomy but it’s never a required procedure – the ‘sex change operation’ for trans masculine folks is always considered top surgery. that counts, legally. for trans women the only surgery that counts is bottom surgery (facial feminization surgery doesn’t).
trans masculine people benefit from the colloquial “fight for reproductive rights” by proxy – yeah, it’s erasure, because not all people with uteruses (uteri?) are women, but the outcome, the goal of keeping abortion safe and legal still helps trans men. auxiliary fights like making menstrual products exempt from luxury taxes also helps trans men.
trans women’s needs are completely kept out of the majority of “womens rights” movements, especially the reproductive justice movement.
this is transmisogyny in action.
It’s also just crystal fucking clear that the intent behind controlling reproductive rights is about controlling women, be they cis or trans.
Like it shouldn’t really need to be stated that these efforts are rooted in gender and not biology. And yet we go through the same cycle every time.
Anonymous: What if a trans woman goes to hook up with a het dude and she never tells him she has a dick and they blow him then he goes to finger her and finds a dick isn't that rape?
1. Do you consent to sex with a person or their genitals?
2. This is a hypothetical.
3. This exact myth of “trapping” is an anxious fantasy of het men afraid of being gay yet still finding trans women attractive but also rejecting the idea of transition as legitimate.
4. Trans women don’t do this because they get fucking murdered.
thats literally what yall wanna do to lesbians tho? :O
when will terfs learn that literally no one wants to have sex with you?
hey, I’m gonna go ahead and deconstruct the various reasons why this comic is shitty :) -compares gender to species, which really aren’t two comparable things -makes trans women look like sex hungry predators -the seal is supposed to be the cis woman, and that honestly sounds like the stereotype ‘woman = weak&helpless’. I thought terfs wanted to get rid of stereotypes?
this, and also
-trans women/anti-terfs pointing out how genital preferences stigmatize trans people and reduce them to their (assumed) genitals =/= them trying to have sex with you. you are not being hit on every time someone points out your bias.
I know I’m bring this back up a little too late, but normally things in comics are dehumanized so people are able to make fun of them. Not only are trans people dehumanized, cis women are too. So besides making them seem weak and helpless, they do that. Even though there’s probably tons of other ways that this comic can be represented as.
every cis queer person over the age of like 28 seems to think that they are an expert on the history of the the lbgtees but they say shit like “trans women werent at stone wall” or “ gay has has always meant men who like men”
stef sanjati got ffs nearly completely free with crowd funding (i think she got 35k from donations) and no shade it looks like she just got her chin/jaw shaved down 3mm (at most omg) like why did it cost that much?
this looks like it could be her dad omg
im over youtubers getting free surgery through crowdfunding when they make six figures filming yt vids
She has Waardenburg syndrome and y'all sound rude as fuck. If people want to donate money then leave it, it was their choice to do so and cosmetic surgery ain’t cheap.
A few things bc apparently YouTubers aren’t supposed to see public criticisms of themselves:
1) I did get my jaw and chin shaved down. I also had my forehead reconstructed, my trachea shaved, and my lip lifted to reduce distance between my features vertically. The point of FFS for me was not to get a new face, but to reverse the effects of testosterone on my features. I am not interested in looking like someone else. It cost so much because I went to an extremely experienced, highly reknowned doctor who left me with literally no visible scars. I have had this same thing said behind my back by other trans women who strive for the Kardashian look and I get it, but that’s not me. I am not going to go for a look that is not mine.
2) The man you posted a picture of has the same genetic mutation that I do. He looks rad as hell with his unibrow and I am proud to share facial features with my fellow Waardenburg Syndrome peeps. I love my features and won’t be shamed into hating them again because someone has a problem with men that don’t groom as much as other people do.
3) I absolutely do not make six figures. When I started crowdfunding for FFS, I had less than 50,000 subscribers and wasn’t even able to do YouTube full time. Now, I do make more money but still nowhere close to six figures. I make just enough to get by with a normal amount of “luxuries” (clothes, make-up, etcetera). I do not lead a glamorous lifestyle by any means.
4) The surgery was still not free. About 25% of it was paid by me, and I was absolutely willing to put more of my money into it but the crowdfunding soared over the course of the full year and I was and still am very thankful to every single person who donated, because they have changed my life in a way that I can hardly put into words.
I do not like “calling people out”, but I don’t understand this idea that YouTubers exist on a level outside of normal internet culture and that we won’t see these posts? I don’t get it.
Is there any irony in people identifying themselves as rationalists inevitably becoming insular and cultish cliques focusing their unified critiques against the most vulnerable people in society, or is that just kind of the logical outcome of the intellectual elitism that comes with rationalist tradition?
The irony is this being posted by someone who supports the most cultish neoliberal post modern clique, trans activism, which is a hate movement against women and particularly lesbians.
Trans activists are like “Laverne Cox doesn’t have male privilege because his brother said so and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, who is from Nigeria, needs to be more intersectional!” and “Butch lesbians have masculine privilege, lesbians who don’t sleep with trans women are murderous oppressors!”
This whole idea that men are more oppressed for the clothes they wear than women are for the way our bodies are exploited as resources globally is mind blowing and erases the experiences of the majority of the world’s women. It’s the ultimate western abstract pseudo intellectual attempt for male supremacists to feign caring about women.
Yeah they care about “women” so long as those “women” have dicks.
Hey is there like a world where literally anyone asked your opinion and can you go back?
me: hey please dont use the word “trap”, its really dehumanizing and has extremely offensive connotations guy with an anime of the week icon and a list of waifus in his blog description:
me: hey, using futa to refer to trans women is kinda gross too because it reduces us to a fetish object
someone that looks and acts exactly like the first guy but is actually a different dude:
It’s too bad trans girls are in so much danger from police and social violence because otherwise they’d be the perfect group to push the envelope on “Free the Nipple”.
Unless they get their gender markers changed they’re legally allowed to be topless in public.
Except we’re not even apparently legally allowed to do that:
“Andrea Jones was arrested for indecent exposure after taking her shirt off after the Morristown Driver’s License Office refused to change her sex from male to female on her driver’s license.”
Numerous trans women over the years, with or without their legal markers changed, have been arrested for public indency for toplessness, in states where men can be topless, before being charged and jailed with men.
The state has absolutely no problem using unfair double standards to punish trans women just for existing.
Ok so first off if it is a trans woman as in a man who has transitioned to a woman then being arrested for exposing her breasts is not unfair in any way against trans women as the officer could not nor any one involved be able to just tell on sight if they have gotten it changed over in the books and in this situation as is with most it is not even about what is in the book but what is visually perceived for the same reason that if I walked around with a picture of feminine breast but told people don’t worry these are a guy’s breasts I would still be arrested.
You’re missing the point. The letter of the law states that trans women are “men” until we get our gender markers changed while men are often exempt from laws against toplessness, even if they have fat deposits on their chest.
The state refuses to treat a trans woman as a woman, until it can be used to harm and criminalize them. Arrested for public indecency as a woman, jailed and imprisoned as a man.
