Illustrated some book covers for the highly accurate Tony Stark book series :^)
This on the other hand, is Agent Romanoff’s assessment of you. Read it.
Just thought a visual of the emotional, physical and down right traumatic pile of crap Tony Stark has been wading through in the MCU might be nice. (Especially for those who seem a little fuzzy on how much it really has added up to over the years)
This is brilliant - thank you.
Reblogging for the rest of the class.
I am becoming increasingly bad at resisting my urge to reblog Tony stuff but god damn people are doing an awesome job with the meta, this is very well put together.
TONY STARK IS NOT A BAD PERSON, AND HE NEVER MEANT TO PUT PETER IN DANGER BY BRINGING HIM TO THE AIRPORT BATTLE.
First of all, Tony had been keeping tabs on Spiderman for months prior to Civil War. He knew that this kid was not only extremely intelligent, but possessed a lot of physical strength. He had seen what Peter was capable of all by himself, and he knew that he was capable of holding his own.
So yeah, Tony told Peter that he wanted his help. But instead of simply throwing him into the midst of a fight, Tony did everything he could to keep Peter safe. Not only did he give Peter much better gear, he talked with him multiple times, telling him what to expect if Cap didn’t surrender and how to respond. He specifically told Peter to keep his distance from any actual fighting and web-up everything he could.
Peter (bless him) chose not listen to his instructions and went off to fight directly with the other Avengers. When Peter later got thrown to the ground, Tony immediately went to him, made sure he was okay, and told him that he wouldn’t let him fight anymore. Even though they seemed to be losing the battle at that point, he refused to take anymore anymore chances, or else he would risk Peter getting really injured.
And most importantly, the whole situation was never really meant to be dangerous in the first place??? Yes, they were fighting, but they all knew each other. None of them intended to really hurt each other, let alone kill each other (with the exception of Black Panther and Bucky). I mean, did you see everybody’s reaction Rhodey got seriously injured? No one meant for things to go that far, and Tony was livid they did.
All y’all bashing Tony when he was actually was, all things considered, pretty responsible.
I think people focus a lot on all of Caps trauma and all of the horrible things that he went through, which is fine, but they disregard Tony and the things he went through… Losing his parents, having the weight of a technological empire dropped onto his shoulders, being held as a hostage and watching his only ally be murdered by terrorists, having countless enemies against him, being scrutinized by the public eye, dealing with anxiety, having people he cares about getting hurt because of who he is and having to deal with that… and he still remains the same sarcastic, witty, and charismatic guy. People forget that. Even if you didn’t agree with his standpoint in Civil War, I think we can all agree that Tony Stark has gone through just as much as Steve Rogers, and he’s just trying to do what he thinks is right.
