Plenty of kids their age know that already because they deal with it everyday. It’s not about getting “leftism perfect”, its about not throwing those other kids to the wolves and supporting ideas that would lead to more violence against their communities (why would someone think having MORE cops in school is any better than arming teachers). They’re still learning (even though we know kids those ages, in the same state, who walked out over Trayvon Martin didnt get that same space to grow) but people are allowed to vent about how their proximity to whiteness is showing in the worst ways.

i absolutely agree that the dangerous ramifications of their movement supporting anything that boils down to “more cops” will be throwing black and brown children under the bus, who are far more vulnerable to gun violence esp from law enforcement. but what i find troubling is how people on the left are so ready to dismiss these kids and the movement they’ve started as if it’s suddenly rotten to the core.

I mean, they’re touting and pushing for ableist and racist policies? This isn’t a matter of them not getting leftism this is a matter of them being ignorant and causing more harm to certain communities through that ignorance.
