One of the reasons my psych has stayed my psych is that she understands that I am not in fact going to kill myself, but goddamn do I need a space to TALK ABOUT THE SUICIDALITY without having to carry other people’s shit. 

That her primary population of care is people like combat veterans with severe PTSD is not, frankly, unrelated to this. 

Also there’s a difference between suicidal ideation/thoughts and actual threats, right?

Yes, even to the point where kids who grew up suicidal can have casual suicidal thoughts in response to even minor problems.

*raises hand*
