Pearl eventually ends up calling her, and in their conversations drops these really confusing fact, “oh yes, Shakespeare, I remember him. What an odd man to become famous”, and mystery girl is so confused.
Pearl bringing her new phone on missions and answering mid battle. Pearl slowly coming to understand humans, not just as Rose saw them but forming her own understanding.
Mystery Girl eventually goes to visit the Pearl and asks Pearl where she lives and has to clarify, “did you just say the giant temple on the beach? … does that have an address”
Visiting without saying anything to surprise Pearl, and showing up during a sword fighting lesson, where Garnet meets her at the temple and takes her via warp pad to the cloud arena, and mystery girl sees Pearl teaching children how to fight in this ancient floating arena and it finally hitting her that she is dating an alien.
talking to Pearl afterwords like: “You’re an actual alien!!” “Yes… didn’t I say that?” “I THOUGHT YOU MEANT YOU WERE FOREIGN”
Seeing fusion for the first time, talking to Garnet about it and then going straight to Pearl and blurting out, “I want to try fusion” and pearl just starts stammering and agrees.
Learning about the gem war, about how pearls were servants, and constantly telling Pearl how much she is worth on her own.
Pearl becoming a fighter from the slave she was, okay.
“Fusion, freedom, her attention.”
The war, fighting to be herself rather than some living toy, sacrificing herself for Rose and being with her at the same time.
“Out in daylight, my potential.”
Pearl realizing just how much power she could have: Homeworld fighters realizing just how much power she could have.
“Bold, precise. Experimental.”
The thought of a Pearl being a soldier had never been done before; nobody knew exactly what would turn out of it.
“Who am I now in this world without her?”
She always assumed she’d have the honor of dying for Rose, not after Rose, not with Rose; for her.
“Petty, and dull, with the nerve to doubt her.”
Rose’s Scabbard is still hitting her deep. Pearl has some concerns with what else Rose may have hid from her. She’s unsure of how far their bond really did go, and it’s killing her to go against everything she thought she knew to maybe think she might’ve lied to her.
“What does it matter? It’s already done!”
She feels like she shouldn’t hold on like this and it shames her that she does.
“Now I’ve got to be there for her son…”
Pearl feels like she has to be strong. For Steven, Rose’s final gift of life. To preserve her memory and teach him what she never had the chance to.

that right there is why peridot is redeemable
she has curiosity. she has a willingness to grow. she is not shut yet. she has a capacity for wonder, and for astonishment, and for greater understanding. she can be abrasive, and unwilling to be truly open with her shortcomings, but she’s also willing to make an effort to shore them up.
the true strength of peridot is that she didn’t give up on the chicken joke. she didn’t give up on understanding garnet. she didn’t give up on watching camp pining hearts. she’s got perseverance in the pursuit of progress, and that’s why she’s a crystal gem.
