if there’s any piece of our history that young LGBT people choose to learn about, please learn about the AIDS crisis

please learn about serophobia

please learn about how the “LGBT community” really came together as a form of protection, and as a last ditch effort for family, when a lot of our families had left our elders to die because of their gayness, transness, and HIV/AIDS status

don’t let our history die out. cishets tried so hard to erase us, don’t do it to yourself

Reposting for pride month 🌈

Just a reminder that to this day, gay men cannot donate blood at most plasma banks or blood banks, because of the fear is Aids and Hiv

Neither can bi/pan men or trans women

please help:

i noticed that many bisexual people prefer ‘attraction to two or more genders’ as the definition of bisexuality rather than ‘attraction to two genders’.
but isn’t 'attraction to two or more genders’ the definition for polysexuality?

there has been so much hate lately and i really don’t want to offend anyone but i don’t understand the bi/poly/pan discourse. what is the problem with/why can’t we use 'attraction to two genders’ as the definition of bisexuality?

im neither bi nor ply so idk how big of an help i can be?

from what ive read the bi definition is not defined as “attracted to 2 genders” anymore because bi people can be attracted to enbies and then what counts as a gender? do they have to be attracted to one (1) nb gender and thats it? or does the non binary umbrella count as one gender? so “two or more” is way more useful & practical (without taking into account bi peeps who are attracted to all genders who wouldn’t fit the other definition) theres also the “attracted to both genders” definition that sorta went with it, wich completely erases nb identities and is super outdated.

ply is defined as the attraction to multiple genders, it is very close to bi’s def but both terms are still needed. i cant really speak for the differences between the two terms as i dont identify as either and dont havent read much bi vs ply type of post, but i can guess that the reason to id as one term over the other would be close to those in the bi vs pan sort of thing? with the history behind bi, the visibility it gives, and ply being newer, and inherently acknowledgeing nb identities.

i hope that was helpful! please do value bi & ply peeps input on this over mine if you get any, this is only what i’ve gathered from what i’ve read over the years :)

using the label asexual even if you’re demisexual or anything else on the ace spectrum because you feel like it fits you more is valid and good.
