If people are being transphobic and abusive, that’s a problem with trans people at large regardless of the effect of non-binary people. If somebody claims they only started hating trans people when “"weird”“ genders came along then the truth is they had a problem with trans people from the very beginning, they just made an exception for binary trans people because they conformed to their cissexist ideas of what makes a man and what makes a woman.

You can’t blame other people’s transphobia on people who are different genders outside of the binary - instead of attacking and harassing them for not being suitably binary enough for cis bigots to accept, you’re only encouraging the problem.
