Like what definable “real problem” is there? What singular problem dictates all that goes wrong in the world I don’t understand what so fucking ever?

If you’re talking about racism then yes, there are a lot of other problems such a police brutality, the way POC are underpaid and employed less, the way they’re mistreated, belittled, stereotyped, abused, arrested more, murdered more…but not one of those is one singular problem. They are a series of problems that come from a system designed to undermine and undervalue the lives of POC and glorify white people like us (I’m taking a stab in the dark and guessing you’re white the same as me). One of the thing that system does is steal the cultures and identities of POC, whilst mocking them with the other hand. For example, a POC might be denied a job based on their hairstyle (such as, perhaps, dreadlocks???), whereas a white person is told they’re edgy and trying to act out and break away from society. A white person with dreadlocks is more likely to get a job then a POC with dreadlocks, even though POC are the ones whose culture has traditionally had dreadlocks, and if you’re telling me thats not a problem you’re full of trash because it is a form of racism.

And you can spout a bunch of European rhetoric at me if you like, saying the Norse had dreadlocks or some bullshit, but in this modern society you really think the Norse come into this argument? You really think white people with dreadlocks go around thinking “I’m just like those Nordic people” when the style of dreadlocks the Norse used isn’t even the same as the ones they’ve got in their ratty mimicry of black style? 

Anon, things like that are part of a whole myriad of problems that make up racism; the only solid root “real problem” in that system is white people and the only way we can change that, ourselves, is by learning and listening to POC.
