im pretty firmly in the “no horses in fallout” camp

it’s kinda part of my interpretation of the fallout setting’s logistics and culture that, outside of sparse use of trains and military aircraft, everyone walks everywhere

logically diesel should b an option but the way i interpret it, even in places where there are servicable roads, vehicles tend not to survive long

altho ncr probably has the infrastructure around shady sands for the operation of some restored cars and trucks… that would make a sense

sole: ok so, humans used to harness and ride around and race and fight on these animals that were, like… radstags but like eight feet tall and revoltingly sinewy and ripped. i guess?

sole: they had majestic manes and their faces were like a yard long but their eyes went in different directions and they were really dumb and they ate our fingers and their only vocalizations were snorts and bellowing airy screams

sole: we nailed permanent metal shoes to their stone feet and when they got hurt we melted them down and reconstituted their gelatin into sugary desserts and glue

piper, crying: why are you telling me this
