Reminder: Gender Euphoria without Dysphoria does not make you trans

It makes you a cross dresser. Do some research.

Gender euphoria can’t exist without dysphoria, as it’s just the relief felt when dysphoria is eased. Easing dysphoria isn’t the same as feeling cute while crossdressing. OP is right, it’s just the semantics.

OP is wrong; that idea that not have dysphoria means a trans(-identifying) person is actually a cross-dresser is just common-or-garden transphobia.

Whether gender euphoria can exist without dysphoria is semantics, yes, but those semantics are crucial when requiring trans people have dysphoria means requiring trans people identify what they experience as dysphoria.

Not to mention that trying to have being transgender - which is identifying as any gender other than the one assigned to you - be the same thing as gender dysphoria, aka a mental disorder, will make people - especially doctors - believe one should treat a trans person’s brain to have them start identifying as their assigned gender rather than their identified gender. Counterprodictive.

And somethibg people who insist on labeling gender dysphoria as the “trans mental illness” forget is the fact that cisgender people can also experience it. Butch cis women, fem cis men, cis women who lost their breasts to cancer, etc etc can all be dysphoric. But that doesn’t make them trans.

If anything, gender should be treated the same as sexuality. We all know that sexuality develops during the infant-adolecent phase, and evidence suggests gender does as well. Neither are illnesses, they’re just who a person is. Gender dysphora is a possible side effect of being trans, not the cause.
