Yes, it’s a malicious caricature, but I can’t wrap my head around how that caricature is supposed to communicate “erasing women”.

Ah, you see, it’s because Those Malicious Transgenders split the world into……..um…….Women and Cis. Which is bad, because everyone knows it should be Women and Transgenders. You see, it’s the vicious way trans people definitely think they’re the only real women, a thing that definitely happens probably sometimes.

Why, I have tears in my eyes thinking about all the times I’ve gone into a women’s space like a bathroom, changing room, or feminist event, only to be hurled out, those cruel cries echoing in my ears - “this place is for WOMEN, not for cis like you, which is an offensive noun we, the Real Trans Women Who Exist, use to denigrate cissies! Away with you!” they cry! “Down With Cis! Come back when you’re wearing high heels and a miniskirt like Every Trans Woman Definitely Does! We love the oppressive construction of gender roles because we never ever ever experience any kind of misogyny because that’s how that works!”

Oh… Oh no. I just had a thought. What if this is a tone-deaf reaction to “women and cis women”? taking them at face value, without any context?
