Fun fact: Canadians are spied on by the CIA as well, as the five eyes agencies use a loophole in their codes of conduct where they spy on eachothers populaces with the approval of eachothers government so that, say Australian intelligence can get away with spying on Australian citizens by getting Canadian intelligence to do the work for them.

Yeah, definitely. The Five Eyes countries (US, Canada, UK, Austrailia, and New Zealand) share huge amounts of intelligence with each other constantly, and Snowden’s leaks revealed that the relationship is so deep that they’ll regularly spy on one another’s citizens for each other to dodge regulations on domestic surveillance. It’s barely an exagerration to say that the NSA and CIA are more willing to give information to GCHQ and MI6 than they are to the US congress.
