Hi anon. FYI, I was homeschooled K-12 and suffered abuse at my parents hands. I can’t fully know how things are for you, but I do know some of it from personal experience. I really can’t know how much of this will help you, I hope at least some of it does.
Most of my suggestions require permission / noninterference from parents and will really depend on your situational details.
First of all, if your parents care about your education, or at least put up a good front of pretending to do so even without an outside audience, some of these might be useful for escapism purposes. This really does assume that they are the kind of people who homeschool you because they think that its educationally good for you for whatever reason, milage may vary.
Reading, if you can stand reading or listening to audiobooks or listening to educational content, or whatever, this is a legit reason to avoid your parents emotionally / physically. Sorry mom, I’m not coming to the living room because I’m in the middle of “Great Expectations” and its the good part. No, dad, I wasn’t paying attention to you yelling because I’m in the middle of this fascinating video on *insert topic here*
Alternately, (or in addition) study music on steroids. I spent most of senior year doing my schoolwork while listening to music (without lyrics in a language I know, this part is important for actually managing to focus) If you can talk them into it, this can be a way to listen to stuff (music therapy is a thing) and you now have a good reason to wear headphones and not listen to them.
If they respect your privacy with respect to your room, you could try to do your work in there, or anywhere they will let you be that will let you look productive, not in need of supervision, and not in a position where they are constantly present.VERY IMPORTANT: if your teacher parent is abusive (it sounds like yes), try to get them to let you teach yourself. The internet has resources galore. Public libraries has soooo much stuff. If you can read and / or access the internet during school hours (and assuming that you don’t have disabilities, i.e. blindness, those can complicate shit) you can learn how to teach yourself material. This is harder for the purposes of doing the school, but it might mean less interacting with the abusive teacher parent. If you (or anyone else who is homeschooled / might end up being homeschooled) want any kind of resources, feel free to message me.
Can you talk them into letting you join a club or a sport? Depending on where you live the public schools may be required to let you participate in stuff like that if your parents try to sign you up for it, and that would let you spend some time with friends. Can you talk them into part -time school? Some kids will like go to the public school for math class then go home and take the rest of their classes at home. There is a wide spectrum from “public schooled kid who spends most of their waking hours away from home” and “kid whose parents claimed to homeschool them but actually were educationally neglecting them and also are literally never allowed to leave the house” You can learn about a lot of these options on homeschooling resources. I know that you don’t want to be homeschooled, but the more you know about that spectrum, the better case you can make to your parents that you should be allowed to shift along that spectrum in your desired direction.
Also, my mother started a chess club. It’s hosted at the library. Clubs are a possibility and you can start them yourself (maybe, depends on exactly how controlling your parents are)Are there homeschool groups in the area? You might be able to talk your parents into letting you do stuff with them. This has the potential to backfire by making it look like you like the situation more than you do. You know your situation best, do what you think will work.
Will your parents let you join a scouting organization or something like it? That would get you out of the house and you might be able to talk to people.
I don’t have all the answers, not even remotely close. I do hope that someone can benefit from this. Good luck, I wish you only good things.

fulltimefool said: Maybe find a rec club or sport to join? Or if your allowed get a part time job at a library or something so u have an excuse to be free. I started going on bike rides for like 4 hours a day and that gave gave me a chance to go outside and breathe maybe that could work.
