remember when you could say stuff like “the earth is round” or “nazis are bad” and be absolutely certain everyone who heard you would agree

and other things such as

“children aren’t sexy”

and

“poor people dont deserve to die bc they dont have money”

Um… Except the Earth isn’t round? It’s oblong and misshapen and any geologist will tell you that.

Also, Nazis weren’t all bad. Most didn’t know about the concentration camp, and a lot that joined up in the later years were actually against the Nazi party, but scared for their families and took the out that was already there. Maybe if you classify neonazis as “Nazi” you can say they’re bad, but the world wasn’t black and white then, and most historians object to such sweeping generalizations.

Are these not-sexy children anyone current under the age of 18? What if their state has a lower age of consent? What if they’re turning 18 tomorrow? What if they do “sexy” makeup and wear “sexy” clothes and generally look like the standard of beauty we associate with “sexy?” What if it’s a 15-year-old calling another 15-year-old sexy?

What about people that had a lot of money, spent it all in drugs and prostitutes, and died because they couldn’t pay for food or a house? Do they not deserve to live a long life and have people give them money they’ll continue to spend on drugs and women and not food or shelter? Does that imply that there are people who deserve to die just because they’re rich?

Bottom line, there’s a lot of shades of gray in your “everyone agrees” thing. Because everyone didn’t agree and everyone doesn’t agree. You make your own choices and your own decisions, but there are about a billion people who think you’re an idiot at any given time.
