Obviously the material effects of oppression are the focus in any movement that strives towards the liberation and empowerment of an oppressed group.

But oppression olympics, and pissing contests over who has the least amount of an abstract metaphysical concept of privilege, is playing into the hands of those who don’t want us to recognize that our struggles are interconnected in the fight against capitalism and imperialism.

We can do better for each other, and we must. Let’s take the blinders off.
