You heard it here first folks, LARPing is trans culture now for reals

We have two lasses in our group who are transitioning because Larp gave them an excuse to play female characters and be accepted. That gave them the confidence to be who they were in their real lives as well. So are both now the beautiful women they were born to be.

The thing about larpers is we are very used to a guy in green facepaint telling us he is an orc and us treating him like an orc. Or a guy in a zombie mask saying he is the biggest necromancer overlord of all time and us treating him that way. So when a guy says he is a girl now or vice versa. Then that doesn’t even register on our scale of unusual things. We just accept how you present at face value and get on with it.

All the larps I’ve been to have been packed with respectful nice people who just want to tell a story together. I’m so proud of my little group The Black Company (UK) for being such a supportive place that it’s helped me discover I was bi and give two of our members enough confidence to find out that they wanted to transition.

Larp is all about pretending to be something you aren’t in real life. And for unsure or closeted people it certainly can be a great tool for testing waters. Larp can totally be trans culture, come join our hobby and tell your story. We’d love to have you.
