Hey just want to make sure that there isn’t a single millenial or gen zer on this good earth that believes in trickle down economics because if I have to spend my whole life reading batshit defenses of “job creators” I’d rather just end it now

Anyone please explain since knowledge is power n all that.

Trickle-down economics is the idea that if you give business owners and stock market investors more money, through tax breaks, they will use that money to expand their businesses and therefore hire more people, which will spurn economic growth and prosperity for everybody.

It is criticized by just about every economist due to the fact that just giving money to rich people is no incentive for them to actually use it to expand their business or hire any more workers. They could just pocket the money or use it for lobbying, which is normally what they do. The only thing that actually drives economic growth is demand, which means that the consumers must have more money, not the owners. Raising the minimum wage, ensuring that social welfare is taken care of, and giving enough money for consumers to spend on frivality is the only driver of economic growth.

Of course, the third option is that we give up on all this economy silliness and just build full anarcho-communism. This is the best option. But those are the two traditional sides of the debate.
