I decided while writing the Glass of Water on ToonKritic that it was time to talk about the elephant in the room.

This is actually pretty damn true, because I remember being a 12 year old and some guys from the brony would hit on me. It was very distrudbing, causing me to freak out everytime I see a man trying to be my friend, even if he has no bad intentions. Luckily Ididn’t go to brony conventions as a kid and I haven’t met anyone like that in real life. Please keep your children safe.

To putt as blunty as possible: The Brony Fandom has a Pedophiia Problem. The two largest
sites for fan content, FimFiction and Derpibooru, are packed to the brim with child pornography
that just barely skirts US Federal Law on a technicality. There are a large number of fanartists
and fan writers who produce child pornography and get away with it because they just barely
stay within those boundaries

The fandom uses the term ‘Foalcon® as a euphemism for child pomography, rationalizing that
because the characters involved aren’t human, then that makes it completely okay. In fact, both
of these websites only prevent you from posting material featuring humanized children. A
iimp-handed rule that wouldn’t exist if they were legally required to. These sites have groups
dedicated to this content that reaches temfying numbers

And that’s BEFORE we factor in the prevalence of Chan Boards in the brony community

None ofthis ever gets talked about, because the community at large has the worst priorities
ever. This discussion is constantly being shot down because individual bronies are more worried
about potentially being lumped in wth the freaks than they are about the safety and wel-being
of children. They’re terifed that the mainstream media wil take it as an excuse to label all
bronies as pedophiles, and so they’re content to continue sweeping a rampant problem under
the rug unti it has grown so large as to dwarf everything around it


And as long as that attitude persists, this wil never stop. It wil happen again. Zack was not the
fist, and he certainly wll not be the last. There willbe another sick fuck who thinks they can
avoid geting caught, and will creep around the next convention looking for someone to prey on
And we will not know who itis unt i’s too late:

Brony conventions are NOT a safe place for children. The fandom at large is NOT a safe place
for children. And Bronies are content to keep it that way because they value the perception of
the fandom reputation more than its actual reputation
