Working class parents and caregivers of the neighborhood have different days off from work. Retired elders and folks living on disability help when they can. They find a way to get their calendars to fit so the kids always have a house to hang out at, and someone to take care of them and to facilitate learning. Different adults do have different teaching styles but usually learning is child-led anyhow. They do their best to share books and technology and access to information but there’s always those field trips to the library to fill in the gaps. The kids learn the building blocks of social justice from a young age. They learn about consent and take charge of their own body-minds. Sometimes there’s conflict but it’s a great testing ground for these kids to learn about consensus decision making and transformative justice. They will grow up to either destroy capitalism themselves or inherit the world that comes next.

It’s doable in this format and others.

um why would u assume adults with disabilities or retired elders should do this work because they are home more? that is fucking enraging and abelist. that shit needs to end and happens in every fcking community house. us being home more doesnt equate in being your fucking baby sitters, runners of bed and breakfast, cleaning up after u and then listening to you bitch about work. good luck with your anarcho collective if its founded on capitalistic beliefs. we have worth beyond our productivity. capitism is the root of abelism. SHOW THE FUCK UP.

Sorry I hadn’t considered that aspect of this when I boosted it. You’re right, disabled people aren’t workhorses and this isn’t fair, helpful, or respectful of your autonomy.

I’ll do my best not to perpetuate ideas like this from now on.
