Until there are identity terms that are compatible with both sexuality and gender that people aren’t going to pick at, I’m just. Not going to use any.   

This is why I love the word “queer”. Because it conveys an accurate idea, while still drawing the veil of privacy. The specifics of how I identify are none of most people’s business.

Every time I call myself queer I get angry essays about how I’m “one of those people” stupid and horrible enough to think it’s okay, implying that I’m actually on the side of bigotry and oppression and not really concerned about LGBTetc welfare and safety. It always boils down to something like “UwU So long as you aren’t using it as an umbrella term, it’s okay to use it for yourself, BUT it does mean you have gross backwards politics and are standing in the way of progress! Enjoy!”
