Just to be clear, the initiation rites of the Proud Boys include requiring acts of violence against so called “enemies” of the org.

Now imagine if people of color started a “fraternal order” that encouraged members to commit acts of violence. They would be titled a gang, their members would be called “thugs” in the media, and them being attacked would be titled a “violent altercation” if reported at all.

But white fascists get sympathy because they cultivate a look that is associated with wealthier people and hold values supportive of cisheteropatriarchal white supremacy.
