Gender, Pleasure, Dysphoria, Transition, and Internalized Crap

hobbitsaarebas:

In my “Gender & Pleasure” post, I talked about the fact that you can be trans without dysphoria. Eventually (to my amazement, this happened only after 48,000 notes) truscum, transmedicalists, and radfems found the post, and now it’s being reblogged by people screaming about “transtrenders” and “fetishists” and “appropriation of the trans label” and “dysphoria IS what makes you trans.” (While I hate seeing these reblogs and their disgusting commentary, the irony is that these groups don’t seem to realize they’re spreading my words to people who might benefit from them and would never otherwise have come across them. And the fact that radfems are reblogging truscum commentary from truscum, and vice-versa, shows exactly how well those two groups go together in terms of hating and harming trans people in general. But that’s a rant for another post.)

So let’s talk about transness, coming out, gender pleasure, transition, and dysphoria.
