the very fact that people sacrificed their lives to fight for basic labor safety standards should give people an idea of what capitalism, in its ‘purest’ form, actually entails.

furthermore, people didn’t fight for these things because they’re evil statists trying to create an oppressive state, they just wanted to survive. they didn’t want their children working. they didn’t want to be paid pennies a day. they didn’t want to work in factories where people died regularly.

so erasing the history of class struggle is really the best way to argue capitalism is best left alone–left alone to the ruling class, that is.
