HBO’s Insecure has mastered the cinematographic art of properly lighting black faces. Diversity matters!

This colour theory reminds me of some of what @euclase has written about their painting techniques!

Wow this is great. I’ve struggled A LOT with unraveling how black actors are photographed on film, and Ava Berkofsky lays it out so well.

I’m floored by the furniture thing, though. I shouldn’t be, because of course, but I am.

I remember reading an article at some point about how film (physical film, not digital) is racist because of how white skintones were made the baseline and that the science really could have showed poc better if anyone had cared enough to try. I love seeing people shake that up!
