most of the time when there’s a character with a vast knowledge of Nerdy Stuff like comic books or anime, it usually comes back up again later to save everyone somehow and prove that Being A Nerd Is Cool! but not with dirk, unless you count meta, his anime knowledge never did anything for the plot other than show us he’s a huge fucking loser
