There’s a lot of very misguided misinformation about Pokemon Go Fest most likely being spread by very spiteful people. So as someone who attended I would like to debunk a lot of these

-people were only allowed two water bottles and had to pay for water.
You were allowed to bring empty water bottles too and there were plenty of FREE Water stations at the event with easy lines.
There was also on-sight medical assistance if anyone experienced dehydration but the biggest issue was actually sunburn, not dehydration.

-We didn’t unlock Legendary Pokemon
We did, we unlocked Lugia and Articuno

-No one could play the game.
A good chunk of people had service issues and indeed there were problems.
I experienced crashes but none that really negated from my experience. Though that would be the fault of the cellphone providers and not Niantic.

-People were in line for two hours
200,000+ people attended the event and the tickets for said event sold out in 30 minutes. The people who waited two hours were the ones who either arrived way late after lineup began. There was a ton of people, and people had to go through bag check, security, collect their QR codes to actually ACCESS the festival of course they had to wait.

-Niantic behaved unprofessionally/Has tried to ignore the problem.
Ninantic is fully refunding people’s tickets and giving them 100 dollars worth in play coins as well as Lugia for attending.
Niantic constantly apologized and did what they could to help but again NIANTIC IS NOT A PHONE PROVIDER ITS A DIFFERENT COMPANY ENTIRELY. I see no one throwing at fit at Boost Mobile and Sprint for not helping and THEY WERE THERE.
This was the FIRST TIME they were trying to do this and there were flukes and missteps they didn’t account for.

This was not DashCon

This was not FyreFestival

This was a perfectly fine event that only had a few bugs.
