I’m having a lot of emotions about the 13th Doctor being a woman, honestly.

Like, on one hand- super pretty, young, white, blonde lady, yeah not like the MOST progressive casting.

But like, holy shit, finally at least the Doctor isn’t a white British dude.

Fingers crossed that the new show runner and writers handle it well and Doctor Who becomes, like, fucking watchable again

They deal with capitalism (in probably my new all time fav episode), racism, colonialism, and Bill gets an awesome happy ending with her space girlfriend! Some are saying that it was pretty brutal what she went through, but if we think back to all the other new-who companions, it wasn’t out of the ordinary. In fact it was basically line for line the same ending as Clara.
