it really makes my blood boil seeing some incredibly unfunny racist grown ass men make some gay dating sim to profit off of the extreme desperation of the LGBT community, despite clearly not caring about the community itself, and yet literally everyone falls for their bullshit? honestly Game Grumps fans are making me homophobic

Game Grumps themselves aren’t making the game. The game is being made by a team member from Game Grumps (Vernon Shaw) but he is not a main grump and hasn’t said or done anything offensive. The other co-creator is ‘queer’ (her words) and they have a few others on the team who identify as queer including a bi-sexual man. 

The Grumps as far as I can see are housing production of the game and are providing voices, but they have no hand in writing the story or creative control of the game. The creators have stated they intend the game to be heartful and meaningful and not meant to make fun or demean. They’ve put research into the project and talked with members of the LGBT community. 

Arin and Dan did not dream up this idea to be opportunistic. It was pitched to them by Vernon and Leighton who are the creators of the game. The grumps are funding the game and the team is working in the grump office to make it, but that is the extent of it. 

No one bothers to do any research on this project and instead wants to dismiss it because of it’s ties to the grumps when in all actuality they have so little to do with the main creative process.
