One Piece makes so much sense of you interpret it as a long running tabletop RPG.

There’s actually a web comic that does this.
It’s called Grand Line 3.5 and it has one of my favorite DnD jokes
The character who plays Luffy has a special D20 that he uses whenever he rolls for diplomacy… It’s special because every side on it is a 1.
