If you do want to go toe to toe with cops don’t do it at the main protest in your area. Start shit across town and split the cops’ resources. “Open a second front” so to speak and take some of the heat off of the people they have absolutely no qualms about harming. Split up and open up a third front, a fourth. Keep moving and keep them moving.

Also: the reason the cops win is because they have a shit-ton of resources. Often too extensive for a small group of us to attack directly. Therefore, the long-term strategic goal should be to drain their resources at every opportunity.

Every dollar spent replacing smashed cruiser windows is a dollar not spent on tear gas; every “ACAB” mural under a bridge is one they have to spend time and resources cleaning up, investigating, and being demoralized by; every trainload of ammo robbed is a trainload of ammo they’re not getting. And when they no longer have a logistical advantage, that’s when they no longer win. This is the essence of guerrilla war, and that’s the kind of war we’re fighting.
