i need to talk about my friend’s dad though

he’s this middle-aged nerd who is very smart has a well-paying job as a doctor but he’s absolutely wild

when he was in grade school he hacked his school’s computer programs and made them say swear words to people. he got dropped out of advanced classes for it

when his daughter was a toddler, he owned a christian new wave band that made like 20k in royalties and was popular in japan. he’s an atheist now

one time he illegally bought a shitton of nintendo games from some guy in michigan for like 40 bucks

he has security cameras installed all around his house in case someone robs it.  there’s 1 tv and 1 computer set up in the living room that show the footage. i think it’s all joke though

he owns a tesla car that has license plates saying “pigeon” in reference to nikola tesla’s “interest” in pigeons

there are like 4 roombas in his house and one is named after robert smith from the cure

he has 3 cats (lord milknose, muffin, and zelda) and a dog (link) and zelda and link hate each other

the basement is a whole other story though. he has a bunch of old arcade machines there, not sure if they work or not. there’s also an exercise room with a ton of equipment nobody uses

at one point he had a bunch of vegetables growing in the basement so his family could eat them and there was weirdass lighting and it looked like he was growing weed. i don’t know how well it worked, but he abandoned the project

there’s also a side room to the basement that has a shitton of rations that he bought after watching doomsday preppers. it cost like 2,000 dollars and i’m almost completely sure he just did it ironically

as you can probably deduce, going to my friend’s house is an absolute treat

my only question is how would you illegally by a nintendo game
