To add some nuance: it requires child welfare workers to consider gender identity when evaluating a child’s safety in a home. So if refusing to accept gender identity crosses the line into abuse, then yes the government will remove the children from the home.

There is actually very little reporting of this law in the main stream media. It’s mostly right-wing “news” sites such as Infowars (Canada’s Breitbart equivalent) who are jumping on this as an overreach of government power.

Also this isn’t ‘Canada’s New Law’, its a provincial law for the Province of Ontario. It won’t apply anywhere else.
