how to have a fun, jazzy time on Tumblr.com:

  • beware of callout posts. as seen with recent events, a lot of people only make them to ruin people’s lives, taint their reputation for no good reason or to harrass other tumblr users. don’t believe everything someone says, ask for proof, check the sources, be objective
  • ‘abuse’ is vague. be extremely cautious of people who throw the word ‘abuser’
  • if people can’t explain WHY someone’s abusive/ableist/transphobic/etc., especially if they refuse to provide any proof of the person they are calling out, that’s a major red flag. a lot of people will simply call others ‘abusers’ without actually explaining how that person is abusive. that usually means they weren’t abused at all
  • having a lot of followers doesn’t make someone right
  • someone may have done something problematic in the past, and that’s okay. they may have learnt from their mistakes ever since. beware of people who bring up tiny details from someone’s past life to drag them through the dirt. they’re usually looking for something to make the other person look bad, and actually aren’t interested in keeping others around safe
  • don’t believe everything you see
