Internalized oppression is acted out by people in the oppressed group that’s targeted by it, often but not always against themselves specifically–they have internalized what they have been told by others about their oppressed identity.

Ingrained oppression is acted out by a person who is not aware that what they’re doing is oppressive–society has ingrained in them that they’re supposed to do this thing without teaching them why.

Lateral oppression is acted out by people in a different oppressed group than the targeted group–it’s lateral oppression, oppression on the same level, because they’re neither oppressed by nor privileged over the people they’re targeting.
