If you’ve forgotten how viciously the media was sicced on Sanders, here’s an article that argues Sanders has been lying about his $27 average donation level, the rallying cry that was meant to underline that his campaign was powered by small donations.
The article: “Bernie Sanders keeps saying his average donation is $27, but his own numbers contradict that” is nearly 750 words long. The author calls the claim “just a talking point” (and presents a lot of bad math).
Why? Because the actual average at the time was $27.88… which rounds up to $28.
Hillary Clinton broke federal laws and also interfered in the Republican primaries to get Trump nominated as an “easy opponent”.
It’s not really that I think Bernie Sanders would have saved us all or something like that, but ffs at least we’d be talking about healthcare and college right now and not how to combat the next attempt at a Muslim ban.
There’s also a lot of later additions to this as well, like the disclaimer at the top that the author wasn’t really trying to neg Bernie and everyone just got it wrong.
The title of this “Thoughtful recap of the criticism it has received”?
And the bit at the end where the Sanders campaign was like “dude that’s still $27″ and the author goes super passive aggressive:

The editor claims the original title was “How is it that Bernie Sanders still averages $27 per donation?”… but was that really the title?
Well… sort of.

“How has Sanders’ Average Donation Stayed at $27? Well, it Hasn’t.”
