I really hate the framework of “the right and the left” because it leads to assumptions that both are part of a larger structure, that they only make sense in relationship to each other, and that they are equal opposites.

There is nothing farther from the truth, nor is fascism the necessary corollary to communism, nor is liberalism some special golden mean.

I agree with the first statement and imo, pop culture is pedagogy. There’s little hope of reaching the adult population through schooling (though I think we should encourage people in high school to be active and form affinity groups), but there’s hope in reaching them through podcasts, webshows, and just plain memeing.
