“Consent to sex is not consent to pregnancy!”

image

Ok, here’s the thing, not all sex will lead to pregnancy. Oral and anal as well as fingering isn’t going to result in pregnancy. Neither is using a dildo to fuck your partner.

Not only that, but birth control is a thing. Sometimes people use it incorrectly, sometimes it fails. Sometimes due to human error, people forget to take their pill or something just simply happens.

Pregnancy is simply a possible result from PiV (penis in vagina) unprotected sex. Does it always occur? No. Hell, people who have even had their tubes tied can end up pregnant! Things do happen. It doesn’t mean that the person wanted to get pregnant. It simply means they wanted sex and intimacy with someone because it can feel good and be a great way to relieve stress.

Think of it this way, one of the risks of getting into a car is a car crash. Does that mean that every time you get into a vehicle that you are consenting to get into a car crash? No. Of course not. It’s just like that. It’s that simplistic. Also, consent can be withdrawn at any time. Even if you had wanted to get pregnant at the time of having sex, it does not mean that circumstances may arise that will make you want to withdraw that consent. Maybe you find out you have cancer, maybe that darling baby you wanted will be born unable to breathe, maybe you have lost your home and job, or any other mitigating circumstance that makes birth a less viable option. People aren’t required to give birth if they don’t want to.

Consent can’t be revoked if it threatens the life of another person. Just like consent can’t be revoked after you’ve done something.

Comparing a random act of tragedy (a car crash) to the natural result of using your reproductive system is a hell of a reach.

“Consent can’t be revoked if it threatens the life of another person” ACTUALLY if I am halfway through donating blood and I say “You know what, I actually change my mind, I don’t want to do this” technically, due to my rare blood type, someone WILL die because I did not donate my blood. But you know what the nurses are legally required to do? Immediately stop the removal of blood and throw out what was collected. Why? Because I revoked consent.

If I am prepped for surgery and they are putting the mask on and they have someone who needs my kidney and will die without it on a stretcher next to me ready to receive my organ and I say “ACTUALLY I changed my mind” You know what they have to do? That’s right! Surgery cancelled, because I revoked consent. Your claim that it can’t be revoked if someone will die if I revoke consent is incorrect.

Even if someone else will die due to my revocation of or refusal to give consent, MY decision is the one that matters if MY body is involved in any way, shape, or form!

Consent AFTER something is done cannot be revoked, you’re right! However, pregnancy is an ONGOING PROCESS and for the ENTIRE DURATION OF THAT PROCESS I can revoke consent to the use of my body!

I cannot revoke consent after birth, for example, but I sure as shit can revoke consent any time BEFORE that event! Usually this would mean an abortion, but it can also mean induction of labour (which is, in fact, a form of revoking consent to a fetus!).

Consenting to sex, one act, is not consent to pregnancy, which is a separate act that involves different parties, organs, and risks. If I consented to kissing then I consented ONLY to kissing. If I consented to sex I am consenting ONLY to sex. If a pregnancy results from that sex, the pregnancy, though caused by the sex, would be a DIFFERENT ACT that requires NEW CONSENT.

I’m pro-choice too and I kinda understand your argument, but I don’t like it. (Straight) sex and pregnancy are directly...
