Ceci n’est pas une femme

Actually like the original “Ceci n’est pas une pipe” painting by Magritte is like, all about how paintings are not actually the thing which they represent

In a way a trans woman is the same thing–a trans woman is the image of a woman, but not a woman.

The only way in which this comparison makes any sense is that the picture of a trans woman isn’t a woman: it is only a picture of a woman, in the same way that the picture of a pipe isn’t actually a pipe, it is only the picture of a pipe.

Trans women are women. Stop trying to butcher art criticism in the name of transphobia.
