A wonderful point I’ve heard from comedians who do think you can joke about pretty much anything: If you joke about horrible things or horrible people, the joke should serve to remind people how and why they were horrible, not make people comfortable with the horrible view that caused them. “Edgy jokes” should mock racists and bigotry, not the victims of it. Otherwise you aren’t edgy, you’re just a bigoted bully.
