Okay so while it’s always fun to see posts about lance being a walking talking shitpost

I feel like there isn’t enough genuine love for him as a character 

so here is the lance appreciation post ™

If lance and keith were “neck and neck” with keith being the top student, that means lance is fucking smart okay

i’ve seen a lot of people make posts about lance being dense or making fun of pidge for being a nerd and it confuses me because this boy is canonically smart as hell


also look how quick he is to draw mr.assholes attention to HIMSELF so pidge doesn’t get in trouble

and he’s the one who takes the scolding so that pidge doesn’t have to i’m… hes an amazing friend

back to lance being smart as hell

while he may not work well in the simulator with other people, this boi got the hang of piloting a technologically advanced magical flying lion spaceship in minutes

don’t even get me started on how this boy is CLEARLY sad and missing home yet he puts on a brave face and cracks jokes trying to make other people happy or at least distract them from missing home I mean look at this child

and it seems he has a lot of family to miss, assuming that these people in his shared memory are his family

this boy has emotional baggage that he deals with all alone i’m dying

now let’s talk about his protective instincts because like

do not fuck with the people he cares about

in  “crystal venom” we see lance literally terrified because the castle has already tried to kill him once, but as soon as he thinks that one of his friends (coran) is in danger?? What fear? He runs into an airlock without a second thought because he wants to help his friend and almost dies because of it.


And in  “ The Fall of the Castle of Lions”

He sees a very obviously deadly bomb about to go ff and what does he do? Forget running he throws himself over coran like a human shield


AND THEN

THIS BOY RISES OUT OF A C O M A

AND SHOOTS AN ALIENS ARM OFF BECAUSE HE’S HURTING ONE OF HIS FRIENDS
