I dont understand artists who have bad handwriting, just like draw yourself some better writing.

Actually having known many artists I find unless they happen to be a graphics or typography nerd of some sort, they have the fucking worst handwriting, part in fact due to them gotten so practised with using a pencil a certain way to draw that it in turn effects their writing.

One of my old art teachers, Sally, had spent years mastering being able to draw without pressing your hand to the paper so she didn’t smudge her work, only to find when she became a teacher that her handwriting was unreadable both to her and her students. I remember spending like five minutes for each note she made on my work trying to decipher them, calling her over and her having to make a rough guess because she had no idea what it said either.

Also artists who draw and use visual mediums get into the habit over time of being able to sketch quickly and capture what they want more effectively. Mostly everyone I know who started out drawing began with thick heavy lines that were clearly used to writing out words for school in handwriting neat enough for the teacher to read, but as they got more used to sketching their handwriting followed suit; being able to quickly record whatever it was you were doing, and being used to using your pencil a certain way, has such an impact on your hand writing.
