Always Human is a webcomic about two girls falling in love, set in a future where most of the population uses body-modification technology that allows the user to do anything from changing their eye colour to boosting their memory. It’s mostly a fluffy, light-hearted romance but it occasionally delves into serious topics such as disability, beauty standards and gender. Also, it comes with an original soundtrack!

The main character is Sunati, a newly-graduated Virtual Reality Environment designer with an awkward yet optimistic attitude to life. She’s pansexual.

The other main character is Austen, a first year genetics major who copes with her stress and insecurities by drinking too much coffee and swearing at people in Spanish. She’s a lesbian.

Side characters include Sunati’s best friend Rae, who is aro-ace and cooler than you.

And Austen’s gender-fluid sibling who has made a long and successful career of being the most annoying person in the immediate vicinity.

The comic is not yet complete, so here is official confirmation that none of the characters will die and there will be a happy ending :)
