This is simply just not true.

Firstly, Taylor donated before anything on twitter even started happening, which was after Kesha’s court case when she saw Kesha crying after the decision was made. Also, you’re forgetting that Taylor has yet to say anything on the matter; it was Kesha’s mom who made the announcement that Taylor donated $250,000 to them, and that both her and Kesha were extremely grateful for the support. I mean honestly, for your to bitch about Taylor just to bitch not only is extremely problematic, but takes the focus away from Kesha, who is just by the way what this is all about. Because frankly, this is not about Taylor Swift, and that is exactly why Taylor donated quietly rather than being flashy on twitter. To reiterate, Kesha’s mom announced Taylor’s donation, not Taylor, so your argument that Taylor donated for public attention is absolutely false.

Secondly, for you to now complain about how much Taylor donated is just fucking desperate, because frankly $250,000 is a lot of money; for a little perspective, it costs about $228,000 to go through four years of Harvard Law, so for you to say that $250,000 is not a lot of money shows your clear naivety of how the world actually works. Not to mention the fact that Taylor literally had no obligation to donate at all, so for you to complain about how much she donated is absolutely ridiculous; why are you placing the sole responsibility of Kesha’s case on Taylor’s shoulders? Also, while speaking up on twitter is important to help Kesha, donating actual money to help her pay for actual legal fees and buy her actual contract from Sony is exponentially more important. I have said this before and I will say it again: The reason Taylor didn’t make a flashy public show of support for Kesha is because she knew it would draw focus away from Kesha and away from the actual problem. Millions of people supporting Kesha through a hashtag is absolutely phenomenal; however, when it becomes a grab for attention for celebrities to play America’s Next Top Feminist, that’s when it needs to stop.

Before I go, I would just like to remind you that
this is about Kesha, and nobody else. Kesha needs our support, no matter how you choose to give it, be that a hashtag on twitter or a cash donation. If you are seriously going to use Kesha’s assault as your own personal soapbox to bitch about people you don’t like, then you need to make a serious evaluation of your morals, because that is really just fucked up. Please, stop drawing the focus away from Kesha in order to use the spotlight for your own personal gain.
