you know what really sucks about problematic posts getting really popular?

is that for the original poster there’s no bouncing back from it

i usually click on the urls of the op just to see what’s up with them like are they okay? did they change their minds? what’s going on? 

not to message them like “no you’re wrong”

and yet 9 times out of 10 the user no longer exists

because that user could probably make nothing but posts saying “OKAY I UNDERSTAND MY MISTAKE MY APOLOGIES I’M GENUINELY SORRY” like fill their blog with nothing but that

but the harassment will never stop because nobody is actually looking at that they’re looking at the popular post and reblogging it 

and leaving only stopping by to leave hate if they DO click on their blog

i know it’s hard cuz you see something kinda fucked up and you want to comment like “this is not okay and here’s why” i get that

but maybe take a second and LOOK at the person’s blog

if they got swastikas in their theme sure have at it but i guarantee most of the time it’s a teenager that LIKE ALL OF US USE TO 

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF USE I’D BET MONEY 

has some problematic opinions they need to work through

opinions that are ingrained in them by the people around them i guarantee

ideas that may i remind you are never really our own but taught to us

so please

if some post brings up something that you want to talk about then why not try making your own post on the matter instead of blowing up some poor kids dash

put some positivity out there instead of blowing up someone elses (most likely misguided) hate

like even if they are some neo nazi why would you want to give that attention?
