some of your settlers can be synth spies and steal your best weapons and clothing along with your damn power armor so remember to remove your fusion cores after you leave your power armor at your settlement and to be safe, give your rare items to your companions!!! this is my opinion on what to do because a huge squad of settlers went behind my back and after i killed them, they all had synth components.

Also: apparently, if you have the awareness perk, you can tell if the settler is a synth because they’ll have a higher energy resistance rating than a normal settler
