ok guys help me out here
I have an 8 page research paper to do for my queer theory class that is either due at noon or 5 today, but the point is that I have not started it and most likely wont finish it by either of those times. I’m not doing really well in this class and already have one late paper that I haven’t done so I just wanna get this done so I can at least hand it in on the actual due date (even if it isn’t completely on-time). and hopefully if it’s a few hours late I can just explain to my professor that I am incredibly mentally ill and the shit I’ve been going through the past week is absolutely a valid excuse for why I’m handing my work in late.
ANYWAY I’m also completely changing my topic, which is probably a bad idea because we had to give proposals about our topic weeks ago to the professor and if I have a new topic and hand the paper in late then I’m really gonna be asking a lot of him…but I know he’ll still grade it because he’s a good guy so oh ok anyway my point:
I know I won’t get shit done unless I’m at least somewhat interested in what I’m writing, and this paper just has to be about anything LGBTQ+ related basically, so I was like ok you know what? I literally write about that stuff on my blog. I made a post just last night about my consistent denial of being bisexual. So that’s what I’m going to write about. My thesis basically is going to be that bisexual erasure is essentially caused by sexism, because people expect that bi women just “haven’t found the right man yet” and that men “are just too afraid to come out as completely gay”. It’s assumed that in the end, we will all realize that we just love men. does this make sense? no absolutely not like 99% men are disgusting and 99% of girls are just beautiful in every way, yet they assume that we all just like men. it’s fucking sexist bullshit. which I’m going to say slightly more eloquently in my paper.
but ok ok so my request though is that if any of you bi/pan people out there have anything to say about this, about your experience with bisexuality, or just anything that you think I might be able to use for my paper, please message me asap. It could be anonymous or if you want actual credit you can give me your full name, I don’t care, but it would be nice to have quotes from actual people that can back me up and be like “yeah it is definitely sexist bullshit”. thanks guys!
it is definitely still relevant! i actually got an extension because we got a lot of snow here and they closed campus, so I don’t have to turn it in until tomorrow (which is honestly a godsend). so if anyone still wants to message me, please do so! I’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions.
