Why the Potterhead is the only fandom which gets on my nerves.

roublardise:

First, I just want to say that I don’t want to start some fights. I just need to write all the things that pisses me off about Potterhead. I will make generalisation, but I know not every Potterhead is like that. I know some of them, I’m friends with some of them. If you feel that my post will make you mad, don’t read it seriously.

I’m so respectful. Really. I respect every OTP and every fandom. I hate conflicts. If I don’t really like something I will just blacklist. I mean, I will certainly say what I think of it on Twitter or Tumblr but not in a trash way because I know that’s just what I personally think. I have no problem if my friends disagree I will not screaming at them saying they don’t understand. But I notice some things with the HP fandom, and with years it starts being too much and I start ignoring them. And then, I just can’t enjoy HP like I used to do because its fandom took all my patience.

I’m so tired of reading/hearing «oh us Potterhead are still here even if the books and movies are over since 2011!» WOW. CONGRATULATIONS. DO YOU WANT MONEY OR SOMETHING FOR BEING FAN JUST AS EVERYBODY ELSE IN OTHER FANDOMS? It’s just common. Idk. I’m fan of many books which will never get a movie adaptation and I’m still a fan even if they were published in 2006 or 1851. Many people are still so fan of F.R.I.E.N.D.S and you know what? This tv show is over since 2004. LOTR and The Hobbit’s movies are finished and I bet in 10 years the fan will still be here, writing fanfic and cosplaying as Gandalf. Don’t think you’re better just because you still watch or read Harry Potter as if it was 258 years old (and even if it was 258 years old, you don’t deserve a price).

Besides, I think that in the HP fandom, more than in any other fandom, there are more battles between «true fans» and «false fans». Maybe it’s not true, but that’s what I observe. If someone dare to say they are Potterhead but haven’t read the books they will be bullying so hard. CALM DOWN PEOPLE. Let others be happy and enjoying things. What if they just don’t like reading? Why if they haven’t the time? Why are you gotta be so mean, seriously? And sometimes, some people who called themselves Potterhead haven’t even goodies. WOW. What.a.tragedy. What if goodies aren’t there thing? Can’t you respect others’ choices?

In the same way, I really observe that Potterhead are more likely to think they are better than other. Don’t fool yourselves, you’re just in a fandom like almost everyone here. I don’t care if Harry Potter has touched the whole world whereas I’m fan of a french musical with only six translations. It doesn’t matter. You’re a fan. Not the best fans in the world because this title isn’t a thing. You don’t have the right to treat other fandom like shit. Oh, and your «there are no drama in our fandom we’re so much mature than the others»? Bullshit.

I also hate these Potterhead who become crazy if you tell them that Harry Potter is for children. It IS for children. Why are you lying to yourself? It isn’t some Shakespeare or Victor Hugo. It’s not mean when I say that, it’s a FACT. You can read it, you can read whatever you want. Harry Potter is open to everybody but it is basically for children. That’s it.

Therefore I just feel like Potterhead is a kind of crazy people who takes things way too seriously but not in a fun way. I do take some things really seriously, but it’s always with laugh and joy and I respect people who disagree with what I like. Potterhead are wild animals if you dare to say something about J.K Rowling.

Keep calm. Breathe and have fun. That’s all.
