You can’t call yourself an ally of the LGBT+ community unless you accept, believe in, and support all identities of the community.

So if you go “Oh I support gay marriage and think that gay people should have rights but I don’t believe that being transgender is real and you have to be what you were born as,” you are NOT an ally.

If you think “Gay people should have rights but bi people shouldn’t,” then you are NOT an ally.

If you believe non-binary, pansexual, asexual, aromantic, etc. doesn’t exist or isn’t valid, you are NOT an ally.

It’s okay to be confused and ask questions to educate yourself, but if you are treating an identity unequally or are denying its existence, you don’t have the right to call yourself an ally.
