After last year’s amazing success, and the fact that the post has exploded again yesterday, UYLD is officially coming back on for 2015.

Yes we are all aware that this year’s May 7th is on Thursday, the post you’re reblogging is from 2014.

A few basic rules:

• If your language is something other than English, on May 7th you can speak that language all day!
• If you have multiple languages you can pick from the choice is yours friend, speak all, speak one, whatever’s best for you
• You’ll blog in your language all day: text posts, replies, tags (except triggers and organizational tags), the whole nine yards. Regardless of what language people choose to speak to you, you answer in your own.
• Midnight to midnight according to your own time zone
• English native speakers, if you wanna participate you can practice a second language you’re learning
• Be kind and respectful! Read the UYLD FAQ for more info.
• The tag is gonna be #Use You Language Day if you wanna tag your posts with that!
• Non-verbal, non-written languages (like ASl, dialects, otherwise non-written languages) are more than welcome, read the FAQ for some suggestions on how to participate.
• If you have concerns/suggestions regarding accessibility or inclusion of any kind, please send this blog an ask.
• IF YOU HAVE ANY MORE QUESTIONS READ THE FAQ FIRST.
• All in all I am not going to come police your participation, as long as you’re respectful of other people’s culture you can do what you want.
• Please tag all your posts “use your language day” or “uyld” or some variation thereof, so that if people need to blacklist for accessibility reasons they can do so. This is about having fun, not distressing other people.
